Technical requirements: what you need to study with us

You do not need special software or a powerful computer. A standard setup and a stable connection are enough to join live sessions and use the virtual campus.

Minimum setup

ItemWhat we recommend
ComputerA laptop or desktop with a current operating system. A tablet or phone works for watching, but a computer is better for exercises and your project.
BrowserAn up-to-date version of Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari, with pop-ups allowed for the campus.
InternetA stable broadband connection that can handle video calls. Wired or a good Wi-Fi signal helps in live sessions.
Webcam and microphoneRecommended so you can take part in discussions. A headset improves audio for everyone.
SoftwareA PDF reader and a word processor or office suite for your project.

Practical materials for hands-on programmes

Many programmes are theoretical or analytical and need nothing beyond your computer. Others are practical: cultivation programmes, for example, require basic equipment and supplies so you can follow the exercises at home.

What you need varies from programme to programme and is listed on each programme page. If anything is unclear, ask admissions before you enrol. For field-related programmes, always follow local regulations and never eat any wild mushroom on the basis of an online identification.

Check your setup before the first session

1Update your browserInstall the latest version and restart it.
2Log in to the campusUse the access details you receive after enrolment and open the first module.
3Test camera and microphoneAllow your browser to use them and check they work in a test call.
4Choose a quiet placeGood light and little background noise make the sessions easier for you and your group.
5Join a few minutes earlyThat leaves time to fix any small problem before the session starts.

Accessibility

If you use a screen reader, need captions, larger text or other adaptations, tell us when you enrol or write to info@fungaris.institute. Recordings let you review sessions at your own pace, and we will look at what else we can adjust for your programme.

Technical questions

Can I follow a programme only on my phone?

You can join sessions and read materials on a phone, but writing exercises and your final project is much easier on a computer.

My connection is slow. Can I still study?

Yes. If live video struggles, you can turn off your camera, and recordings let you watch sessions later.

Do I need to buy a microscope?

Only if your programme requires one. Equipment needs are listed on each programme page.

Not sure your setup is enough?

Tell us what you have and which programme interests you. We will let you know.
